The annual Pacifica costume contest has become a highlight of the spooky season. From superheroes to scary clowns, students push their creativity and ideas to the limit year after year. Everyone is ready to show off their Halloween costumes for the year. With winning on the line, everyone wants to show off their costumes. There are 5 categories to compete in: best couple, group costume, most creative, funniest, and, of course, scariest! The costume contest is done every year and takes over the quad with cheers and amazing costumes.
Students spend weeks planning their costumes with tons of creativity, hoping to win categories like Scariest Costume or Best Group Costume. This year seemed like there were even more people than the previous years, which allowed for even more fun and excitement. The judges, made up of some teachers and counselors on campus, sat under the tent as the students walked by, showing off their style and costumes. One highlight was a group of students dressed up as characters from a movie, with very well-done outfits. These moments remind everyone that the annual costume contest is made for bringing the students together, and so that everyone can show off their fun and spooky styles.
Another exciting part of the contest was seeing how confident people were once they stepped out to walk in front of the judges. The crowd of students surrounded the quad, cheering every time a new costume was called out to walk in front of the judges, which made the atmosphere of it all very positive and fun. All the participants showed off their bold and creative costumes, trying to get the judges’ attention. Some students had really well thought-out and put together costumes, some even looking quite real. The judges seemed very impressed by how much effort each student put into their costumes. Overall, the energy throughout the contest made it clear that this annual event is so much fun and entertaining, even for students just watching.
In the end, the Halloween costume contest didn’t just show off cool styles or amazing costumes; it showed how creative and spirited our student community really is. It’s a tradition that will be continued for many school years to come, and everyone looks forward to it.
